ableX is an ETIM supporting member - another milestone for structured product data

We are pleased to officially announce that ableX is now a supporting member of the ETIM! This not only deepens our existing cooperation with the leading standardization body for technical product data, but also underlines our clear commitment to structured, interoperable and future-proof data in the industry.

Our journey with ETIM - right from the start

The ETIM classification (ElectroTechnical Information Model) has long since become the standard in many industries, particularly in the electrical, sanitary, construction and installation sectors. As a provider of smart data solutions, we know how crucial a standardized product classification is for functioning processes, clean data and smooth communication.

That is why we are already actively working with the ETIM model - both in data integration and in the automated transformation of product data into structured ETIM formats. Many of our customers use ETIM as the basis for their sales, e-commerce or connection to retail partners - and ableX ensures that the data is available in the right format, with the right structure and in the right place.

Classification - but flexible, please!

As important as standards such as ETIM are, the reality in companies is often more complex:

• A company must maintain several classifications in parallel: ETIM, eCl@ss, UNSPSC, its own industry-specific models.

• Retailers require different classifications - depending on the country, system or partnership.

• Existing product data does not (yet) fit completely into a standardized schema.

• Companies want to develop their own classifications, e.g. for internal processes, specific product ranges or AI-supported applications.
